As several newly elected Members of Parliament have started arriving in New Delhi, Lok Sabha Secretariat is ready to welcome Members of the 18th Lok Sabha. In a release, The Secretariat said that several measures have been taken to welcome the Members and ensure their seamless registration. In a view to save time and use paperless digital process, the registration of the newly elected Members shall be done through an online integrated software application. Special arrangements have also been made for simultaneous opening of SBI bank account, issuing of permanent Identity Card, Central Government Health Scheme Card to the newly elected Members on the spot.
The Secretariat has ensured that the process will remain operational from eight in the morning to eight in the evening till 14th June including, Saturdays and Sundays. It said while welcoming the Members, the Secretariat will provide each Member with a set of publications relating to the Constitution of India, Rules, Directions and some other useful publications in hard copies. The Secretariat said that Guide posts have been set up at airports and railway stations.
Additionally, Transit accommodation will be provided to members in western court annex, hostel, State and Union Territory bhawans and guest houses. Software based computerized system has been designed for allotment of transit accommodation to members. CGHS medical posts will also function on 24 into 7 basis for the members.
